Quarter 1 deadline

No assignments for semester 1 will be accepted after October 30th. If you have missing assignments that you would like to make up you will need to do so by October 30th!!!

Kitchen Chemistry

Remember, for each chem fact you learn, write it down, otherwise I won't know what you learned!

As soon as we finish our gummy bear lab, we will have a test and start the chemistry unit!! Please be prepared for the quickly approaching "end of quarter one," as it is right around the corner!

Geologic Time

Hello!

I felt it is important for me to reiterate to my students and their families that even thought we are studying geologic time, the ideas presented in this unit are scientific theory. Not at any time during this unit, will I attempt to convince students that geologic theory is anything more than a theory, nor will I penalize students for having a different viewpoint or belief other than this theory being presented.

Below I have listed the standards that I am required to teach regarding this theory. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

SC.08.3.A.2(7) Describe the Earth's Structure and how it changes over time.
SC.08.3.A.2(12) Describe the evidence for and the development of the theory of plate tectonics.
SC.08.2.C.1(6) Describe and explain the theory of natural selection as a mechanism for evolution.
SC.08.2.C.1(7) Identify and explain how random variations in species can be preserved through natural selection.

Building project

I strongly recommend that you try to conduct some research prior to beginning construction on your building. A little extra time researching will make a big difference in the strength of your skyscraper! I can't wait to get started on this project!!

Who cares about my thoughts on science?!?

So I never really thought anyone from the 7th grade would actually want to read about my thoughts on Earth Science, but after I went to a tech conference I learned some really cool things that I can do with a blog. So here I am....blogging.

I will try to keep this up to date and add some cool things to keep you interested. I'm just beginning right now so give me time to get things up and running.
